Pomeroy is Hiring a Network Technician Near San Jose, CA
We are looking for an onsite Network Technician in San Jose, CA for a 6-month contract. The Network Technician will undertake tasks of network development and maintenance including a switch refresh project, data center teardown, racking/stacking, cabling, etc. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and improving the network’s functions.
Schedule: Standard schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm (70% of the time), however during cutovers evening and weekend hours will be required.
Potential Travel: The Network Technician role will be based out of San Jose, CA with some travel around the Bay Area including Fremont and Santa Clara.
Pay Rate: $34-$39/hr
Responsibilities:
- Install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling.
- Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network.
- Inspect LAN infrastructure and troubleshoot problems/bugs.
- Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work.
- Vendor management
Requirements:
- 1-2 years’ experience as network technician or relevant position
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
- Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
- CompTIA or Cisco network certification
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Network support: 1 year (Preferred)
- Computer networking: 1 year (Preferred)
